New Fish Tank
In our family we have a new fish tank. This will be the start of a log of what we do with our fish tank and what fish we get.
The fish tank we have chosen is a Fluval Flex 57. It is 57 litres which, although is pretty small, will be fine for the kids. It has a bluetooth remote for the RHB lighting, a feature that the kids especially like.
The girls have chosen some rainbow substrate, a mangrove wood feature, two rocks and some plants to decorate it. There are two brightly coloured fake plants and three live plants. The live plants are Anubias Barteri and Anubias Nana Bonsai.
The tank was decorated and filled with water (treated with tap water conditioner) and left to sit for a couple of days with the filter running and the heater on. There is a lot of information about cycling a tank to get the nitrogen system ready for fish. We chose to do the quick root by using Tetra Safe Start to introduce the required bacteria.
After a look around the local fish shop and some recommendations from the staff there the kids chose to start with three Black Neon Tetras.
